Legislative Leadership

The leaders of the State Senate and the State Assembly hold positions of great power.  They are elected by legislative members of their political party.  Whichever party has the most elected representatives is called the majority party, and the other party is called the minority party.  The leaders have great influence in determining which Senators and Representatives serve on which committees, and control when bills are allowed to advance for debate and discussion.

Here, you can find the names of the current leaders, and links to their schedules, calendars, and committees.  You can also find biographies of every member of the Senate and Assembly.
